Admissions

The Collective Learning Trust is a family of six primary schools all located within the borough of Bury.

At The Collective Community Trust, we understand that the admissions process can be daunting for both parents and children – we are here to support families to ensure the right decision is made for each child’s learning journey. We would encourage parents and carers to look at our schools’ websites as they contain a wealth of useful information.

How to apply

The Collective Community Trust is the admission authority for all our schools and is responsible for determining their admission arrangements. The Local Authority handles the admissions for each school. Please visit our schools’ websites for more detailed information on the local authority admissions process. Links to school websites and their latest admission policies are below.

For further information about the admission process and to apply online for our Bury schools please visit https://www.bury.gov.uk/schools-and-learning/school-admissions/primary-school

Moving Home?

Applying for a place at a school during the academic year and outside of the normal round of admissions is called an ‘in-year admission‘. An in-year admission may be made, for example, if you move house and your child can no longer attend their current school.  Please see our school websites for how to make an in-year admission.

Right to Appeal

All parents have a right to express a preference for the school they would like their child to attend.  The admission authority must offer a place at that school unless there is a legal reason for refusing a place.  All parents have the right to appeal against any decision made by or on behalf of an admission authority as to the school their child attends under legislation produced by the Department for Education (DfE). For information about the appeals process, please visit the relevant local authority website. https://www.bury.gov.uk/school-admissions
